​​Girls and boys group method

​

(invented and developed in Aland Islands. Brought into Latvia thanks to Resource Centre for Woman "Marta" coolaborating with Alands fredsinstitut in the CENTRAL BALTIC INTERREG IV A PROGRAMME 2007- 2013) provides support for teenagers at the time when the development of identity, formation of personal values and discovery of inner strengths have started. It is the so-called “empowerment method” in which special attention is paid to identify injustice between the genders and power structures associated with gender roles.

 

Group method is based on different activities through which teenagers can discuss and explore important topics (relationships, family, sex, education, social exclusion etc.) in weekly meetings, organized by group leader.

 

Becoming a “Girl and boy group” leader is not only the way to support teenagers but also an amazing opportunity to discover and develop ones personal and professional leader skills.
